Classes

Theatre Arts I - This course stresses the expressive use of body and voice, along with aesthetic growth through appreciation of theatrical events.  The course of study includes basic actor training, stage movement including pantomime, and voice and diction including oral interpretation and characterization.

Theatre Arts II -
This course is a more intensive study of the skills and concepts included in Theatre Arts I.  Advanced acting, make-up, improvisation, film and TV, puppetry, masks, and readers’ theatre will be studied.

Theatre Arts III/IV -
Geared towards the serious drama student, this intense acting course continues the span of instruction of Theatre Arts I and II.  Directing, auditioning and playwriting are studied in the third and forth level curriculum.  Theatre III/IV focuses on acting style and technique.  FOR THE SERIOUS ACTOR ONLY!!!

Technical Theatre -
Design and production concepts and techniques will be studied in scenery, properties, lighting, sound, costumes and make-up. Hands-on experience will be involved in class practicums and during production of shows during the school year. Students will have 20 hours of outside/after school lab time during the course.

Children's Theatre -
This course is intended to inspire creativity, confidence and a sense of community through the exploration and practice of theatre skills. Students will be led through engaging, interactive rehearsals and prepare to present a live children’s theatre production for a young audience.  This course is designed for students who are eager to share the magic of live theatre with others and who desire a unique venue for young people to exercise their imaginations and grow in wonderful and unexpected ways.

Musical Theatre -This course introduces students to musical theatre, its style and its history.  Students will become acquainted with Broadway history, aspects of music production, acting and singing as well as exploring various styles of dance.  Students will be required to participate in after school performances.
